Dig Dig Digger — slot review and demo

Egyptian theme with an eccentric archaeologist

Dig Dig Digger takes you to the sands of Egypt, where the main character—a quirky archaeologist—searches for treasures of an ancient civilisation. The visuals are rendered in HD graphics, with a 5×3 grid and 10 paylines. Provider BGaming leans on humour and a recognisable theme: golden shovels instead of books, but the mechanics remain familiar to the genre.

Mechanics with expanding symbol and free spins

Three scatters (Golden Shovel) on the reels trigger 10 free spins. Before the round begins, one regular symbol is randomly chosen to become expanding—when enough of these symbols land, they occupy the full height of the reel and pay without requiring adjacency. The scatter also acts as a wild, substituting for other symbols. Free spins can be retriggered: three scatters again award another ten spins, with no limit on the number of retriggers. Additionally, a bonus buy feature is available—direct entry to the free spins round for a fixed sum—and a Chance x2 option, which increases the bet and raises the probability of scatters landing (it does not work simultaneously with bonus buy).

RTP 94.94% and high volatility

The RTP is 94.94%, which is slightly below the market average. Volatility is marked as very high—this means rare but large wins. The minimum bet is 0.01, the maximum is 2, and the payout cap is x7500 the bet. These parameters suit players ready for long stretches without wins in exchange for the chance of a big multiplier.
