First Person Video Poker — review and demo

How First Person video poker works

Video poker is an automated version of poker in which the player competes not against other participants but against a pay table. At the start of a round, five cards appear on screen. The goal is to assemble the strongest combination: you can keep any cards and replace the rest. After replacement, the game compares the result against the pay table—from a pair of jacks to a royal flush—and credits a win according to the bet and strength of the combination.

Evolution's First Person series consists of RNG versions of their live games, without dealers, with computer graphics and a random number generator. This format is convenient for those who prefer their own pace and don't want to wait for other players.

RTP and game characteristics

The stated RTP is 99.54%, which is above average for video poker and most slots. Volatility is medium: payouts arrive more often than in high-volatility games, but big combinations still require luck. Specific bet limits depend on the casino where the game is launched—check them in the interface before you start.

Demo version and what to check before playing

A free demo version is available on this page: you can test the card replacement mechanic and assess how often combinations land, without registration or deposit. For players from Latvia, demo mode is a convenient way to learn the rules without risk. Before playing for money, open the pay table inside the game: it lists the coefficients for each combination and the exact RTP value for that specific version—it may differ between operators.

Other games from the studio can be found in the Evolution games catalogue, and you can compare casino terms in the online casino rating. If you're interested in alternatives, check out the video poker section.
