Six video poker variants from Habanero

The catalogue features single-hand versions of classic video poker varieties. The mechanics are common to all: the player receives five cards, marks those they want to keep, and triggers the replacement. The final combination is compared against the payout table — if the result falls within the paying range, a win is awarded. The differences between games lie in the rules for forming hands and in which combinations pay out.

Jacks or Better 1 Hand awards payouts from a pair of jacks. Deuces Wild 1 Hand uses deuces as jokers — they replace any card, making it easier to build higher combinations. Joker Poker 1 Hand adds a joker to the deck. Double Double Bonus Poker 1 Hand increases payouts for four of a kind under certain conditions. Bonus Poker 1 Hand boosts multipliers for four of a kind, and Aces & Eights 1 Hand gives a bonus for four aces or eights.

How to choose a game

If you are new to video poker, start with Jacks or Better — it's the basic variant with the most transparent payout table. Once you've mastered the card-hold strategy, move on to versions with jokers or bonus combinations. Each game displays the payout table on screen — before you start, it's worth comparing the multipliers and understanding which hands pay more. RTP depends on the specific version and operator; the exact value is stated in the game rules.

Choosing an online casino for real-money play

Real-money play is available at online casinos. Please note: in Latvia, interactive gambling is legal only at operators with a licence from the State Revenue Service (VID). Since April 2026, VID has taken over supervisory functions previously performed by IAUI. Casinos without a VID licence are blocked, and participation in games on such sites carries a fine of 70 to 350 euros for individuals.

Offshore casinos from the site rating operate under offshore licences — Curaçao and others. They do not hold a local licence, so calling them legal in Latvia would be incorrect. If you are choosing a platform to play on, compare bonus terms, deposit and withdrawal methods, and the availability of Habanero games in the lobby.

Demo mode and responsible gaming

All six Habanero games are available in demo mode on this page. The version is free, no registration or deposit required — play runs on virtual credits. It's a convenient way to learn the card-replacement rules and understand which combinations yield higher payouts. Demo mode helps you choose a video poker variant before moving to real-money bets.

If you decide to play for real money, remember to set limits. VID maintains a self-exclusion register — the minimum registration period is twelve months. The register applies to platforms licensed in Latvia; offshore sites are not included. Play is permitted from the age of eighteen.
